If you’ve been reading the blog regularly you’ve heard me confidently proclaim that network marketing is simple, and it absolutely is.
However, that doesn’t mean that training materials are of no value.
In fact, I have found that the best books on Network Marketing are the ones that continually return to the simple, basic business principles that make it successful in the first place. That’s why these 3 books are so incredible. They are not incomprehensibly deep; they are practical and down-to-earth.
Bottomline: Successful networkers own and cherish these books. They’ve been helping people for years and they can help you too!
#1: Your First Year in Network Marketing by Mark & Rene Yarnell
I know that sounds harsh but once you experience the simple and practical advice of the Yarnells in this landmark piece, you’ll understand why I say that.
This book is so powerful, it will inspire and teach you no matter who you are or where you’re coming from. If you’re completely new to the industry, you’ll gain an invaluable set of core principles. If you’ve been working in MLM for years, you’ll be amazed by the profound truths of Your First Year in Network Marketing.
If you’re still on the fence about this book, please listen to what Mark has to say on this YouTube video. Consider it a free and very small sample of what you’ll find in the book.
NOTE: In the audio linked above you’ll hear Mark mention another one of his books—The Lotus Code. I haven’t read that book, although I am sure it is good. However, I still strongly recommend Your First Year in Network Marketing. It has stood the test of time and helped countless marketers achieve success. If anyone has read The Lotus Code, please drop me a comment and let me know what you thought about it.
#2: Wave 4: Network Marketing in the 21st Century by Richard Poe
If you want your world and mind to be rocked (and believe me, you really do), pick up this book right away. This is a book on Network Marketing that gets it right and like Your First Year in Network Marketing, has stood the test of time, helping an entire generation of marketers succeed in MLM.
You’ll be inspired and uplifted by Poe’s wisdom and teaching. I firmly believe you’ll be more adequately equipped to succeed by reading this book. Never again will that small voice in the back of your head be able to supplant the reality of Network Marketing and what is possible when a person determines to succeed in the industry.
Grab on and ride the wave to success with Wave 4.
#3: The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson and John David Mann
Wait, what? You haven’t read it? Actually, I have read “The Slight Edge,” but I haven’t read this latest version and would value your thoughts and opinions on it. The new version was just released in October of last year (2013) and I can’t wait to check it out.
The Slight Edge (the original one that I have read) is absolutely incredible. It isn’t strictly about Network Marketing and that is what makes it so powerful. The Slight Edge will give you keys to success in every area of life. This is because the book focuses on philosophy and outlook, rather than behavior modification.
You’ll be given key principles which are adaptable to every situation imaginable. This mindset is what gives you The Slight Edge over your competition. It is your mindset and philosophy of business that will ultimately enable you not just to succeed in MLM but to succeed wildly.
Please drop me a comment and let me know what you think about these books once you’ve read them. I firmly believe that all 3 of these are key-texts to success in Network Marketing. You might be able to succeed without reading them but I can almost guarantee that you’ll be working harder than you need to (and suffering a lot of pain and pointless heartache for that matter).
You can pick up these books on Amazon, eBay, or at your local bargain bookstore. Of course, it doesn’t really matter where you get them as long as you read them and take their message to heart.
